The Grille Guard kit: the foundation of the Trans4mer mounting system, a simple, bolt-on system that installs around the factory bumpers. Comprised of two uprights and two crossbars. This is an integral required component that provides the base for all other options. The original WARN Trans4mer can be configured in several ways to match your needs. 4Love it.
By Mr. Happy
I bought this to install on my 01 Yukon. This is not the part number that Warn lists for my vehicle but I don't think there is any difference except for the headlight guard attachments which I did not purchase. I did have one modification I had to make to my vehicle that was not listed in the instructions that I downloaded from the internet. I had to cut two slots in the bumper behind the grille so that the upper support brackets could slide between the bottom of the grille and the top of the bumper. I did this with a reciprocating saw and it was not a big deal. I would have given this product a 5 star rating but I was unhappy with the thin (.065") wall tubing that was used. I replaced it with .250" wall and welded them both in place. I also replaced all of hardware with stainless bolts and coated the entire unit with spray-on bed liner. I have not purchased a winch for it yet so I can't say how it will perform under a load but I am confident that it will do fine. it moun ts directly to the frame in a well engineered manner. All in all, I'm happy with the end result after the addition of the heavier tubing and stainless hardware.
